CINESTILL 800 Tungsten is a unique color film with a sensitivity of ISO 800. The film is based on the same gold-standard film technology used by cinematographers around the world. This flexible film is designed for artificial lighting and low-light photography and is suitable for use in a variety of lighting situations to achieve a wide range of looks. The new and improved manufacturing process now extends the shelf life of 800T, resulting in fewer artifacts after the expiration date. This advanced film emulsion is ideal for scanning and is safe for processing in standard C-41 photo lab machines or for C-41 development at home, but can also be processed with Cs2 chemistry for low-contrast film negatives. When developed with C-41 chemistry, it also produces a good contrast curve for printing on RA-4 paper. Treat this film as a high-speed film with an ISO of 800 for C-41 development, and push the development up to ISO 3200 if necessary!

Recommended acceptable exposure for push processing:
No Push – EI 200-1000
1-stop push – ISO 800-2000
2-stop push – ISO 1250-3200
3-stop push – ISO 1600-3200 (additional contrast)
In daylight, we recommend using an 85B filter and/or setting the ISO to 400–500.
Expiration Date: The new, packaged CineStill film has a longer shelf life and exhibits fewer noticeable artifacts after the expiration date. However, for optimal results, it should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 6 months of purchase. Exposed film should be developed immediately using C-41 chemicals to preserve the latent image margin and color fidelity. All current CineStill products have a shelf life of two years from the date of manufacture printed on the packaging. If you have older batches of 800T or your film does not have an expiration date, it has likely faded due to age.
Note: This emulsion was originally developed for ECN-2 film processing and can still be processed using ALL of these steps or with the CineStill Cs2 “Cine Simplified” kit, resulting in a low-contrast negative with a lower gamma that is not suitable for darkroom prints. Although there is no Remjet adhesive layer that could contaminate and consume the chemicals, C-41 processing results in higher density and a higher gamma value, which is more conducive to photographic workflows. Tests have shown that standard C-41 processing yields better results than ECN-2 cinema lab processing in professional labs. However, long-term archival stability has not been tested beyond 9 years. Expected archival life falls somewhere between Kodachrome and most C-41 films. We will replace any roll that exhibits a defect. We assume no liability beyond the replacement of the original film purchased.
Storage and Handling: Load and unload the film in dim light. Store unexposed film in its original, sealed packaging in the refrigerator at 13°C or lower. To prevent moisture condensation on refrigerated film, allow the film to warm to room temperature before opening the package. Develop the film as soon as possible after exposure. Protect developed film from strong light and store it in a cool, dry place.
