“It’s no secret that we’ve been looking for ways to expand our portfolio,” said Dennis Olbrich, president of Kodak Alaris Paper, Photo Chemicals, and Film. “Analog photography is making a comeback, and black-and-white film sales are clearly on the rise. Given these very encouraging market trends, we believe the P3200 will be a great addition to our product lineup.”
In addition to its high sensitivity combined with a relatively fine grain, the standout feature of this new-old film is its “multispeed” capability. This refers to the ability to vary the sensitivity of the T-Max P3200 by adjusting development times—and over a particularly wide range: The nominal sensitivity is EI 800 (EI 1000 when developed in Kodak T-Max developer). By adjusting development times, the sensitivity can be varied between EI 400 and EI 6,400 (EI 400 to EI 25,000 when developed in Kodak T-Max or XTOL developer).
